Where does your mind wander to in Los Angeles?
Please contribute to my public art project by answering the above question in three to five sentences, or a short paragraph. Describe a place, or route, in L.A. that exists as a landmark in your memory, for whatever reason, whether it is of a practical, political, or personal nature. The place may have historical significance, be a place of beauty, or a mundane setting passed by in regular routine. Describe where it is and what happened there to retain a mark on your memory.
The results will be compiled into a series of drawings that map and illustrate a collective memory of the Los Angeles landscape. This project may be used in a public art piece for the Metro Expo Line. All written contributions will remain anonymous. Please encourage other L.A. residents to write something, particularly people of all ages and ethnicities.
